My dad and I started Alpine 24 years ago. At that time, environmental contracting was just emerging and so were the rules and work practices. Many environmental contractors at that time looked at lead paint abatement as simply “deleading”—getting rid of lead paint. What happened to your home environment didn’t necessarily matter as long as you got your “Letter of Compliance.” The basic rules of contracting—scheduling, quality control, customer service—were all suspended. Deleading was looked upon as strictly an environmental remediation process with no concern given to the care and quality of the work. In other words, you shouldn’t be surprised if you and your house took a beating along the way with your house losing value and you losing sleep. But we didn’t agree with that notion.
Because of our engineering backgrounds (my dad is a Civil Engineer with over 50 years of construction and design experience, and I’m a Mechanical Engineer specializing in air quality and environmental compliance), we brought a revolutionary approach to environmental contracting. We decided it was vital to provide a quality job that you would expect from a remodeling contractor combined with top-notch customer service and environmental practices. That same belief drives us 24 years later.
